Meadowbank TAFE is set to be transformed through a groundbreaking redevelopment project that will establish world class vocational education and training facilities as part of the planned Meadowbank Education Precinct.
Minister responsible for TAFE NSW Adam Marshall and Member for Ryde Victor Dominello today announced the NSW Government will invest $154 million to establish a state-of-the-art training hub at Meadowbank TAFE.
Mr Marshall said the project was a game changer for VET students and would deliver the next generation of workers for NSW.
“This $154 million redevelopment of Meadowbank TAFE will deliver world class facilities for students to access quality training in a range of areas critical to the NSW economy,” Mr Marshall said.
“These new facilities will be underpinned by modern technology and enable practical training in areas such as cyber-security, information technology, energy and tourism.
“Meadowbank TAFE will have capacity to deliver training for up to 3,000 students at any one time, ensuring our State has the next generation of workers it needs.”
Mr Dominello said the project was transformational and would deliver on the NSW Government’s commitment to establish an education precinct in Meadowbank.
“The Meadowbank Education Precinct is one of the single largest investments in public education and VET infrastructure in the country, and is being delivered right here in our community,” Mr Dominello said.
“This investment is transforming Ryde into an education and economic powerhouse. The revitalised Meadowbank TAFE will provide thousands of students with the cutting-edge training they need to secure a job of the future.
“It will also allow students to journey from primary school to high school to TAFE right in one place devoted to education and their future.”
