An elected Dutton Liberal Government will crack on with fixing important road infrastructure in the Central Coast, committing $3.9 million to undertake a full upgrade of Nioka Avenue between Talinga Avenue and Takari Avenue, including construction of footpaths, drainage upgrades and parking improvements.
Shadow Minister for Finance, Senator Jane Hume, said a Liberal Government will get the delivery of critical road projects in the Central Coast back on track, after three wasted years of cuts and delays by the Albanese Labor Government.
“The Albanese Government has cancelled, cut and delayed more than $30 billion worth of infrastructure projects over the past three years, and damaged the economy through its wasteful spending and wrong priorities.
“Only a Dutton Liberal Government will deliver for the people of the Central Coast and get Australia back on track.”
Liberal Candidate for Roberston, Lucy Wicks, said it is fantastic to secure funding for Nioka Avenue which will deliver significant improvements to make the existing road environment safer for all road users including cyclists and pedestrians.
“Nioka Avenue is a narrow residential road with one car width access when cars are parked on each side, with no footpath for students and parents walking to the Point Clare Public School, posing a significant pedestrian safety risk every day.
“Improving our local roads and enabling safe, quality transport infrastructure results in huge benefits for many in the community.
“This commitment is a sign of the importance of listening to local residents and taking action to help fix local problems by partnering with local government to deliver on road upgrades to ensure the people of Robertson, and the broader Central Coast have the safe and efficient roads they need and deserve,” Lucy said.
