Liberals commit to Wayne Gardner Oval Upgrade
The Hon Angus Taylor MP
Shadow Treasurer
Federal Member for Hume
An elected Dutton Liberal Government has committed to delivering $200,000 for state-of-the-art LED lighting at Wayne Gardner Oval in Oran Park.
Shadow Treasurer and Federal Member for Hume, Angus Taylor, said the current floodlights are outdated and no longer fit for purpose.
“Wayne Gardner Oval is an important community asset for Oran Park locals,” Mr Taylor said.
“These new LED lights will improve visibility and create a safer environment for players, spectators and residents.”
“The new lights will also be more energy-efficient and cost-effective, which will reduce ongoing maintenance expenses."
The Oval is used regularly by local residents, for soccer clinics, and by Oran Park Anglican College students.
This latest funding commitment from the Liberals is in addition to three other local funding announcements which include:
• $7.5 million for the Macarthur FC Centre of Excellence in Camden;
• $5.8 million for the Leppington Oval Precinct; and
• $85,000 for Wollondilly Leisure Centre upgrades.
These commitments are part of the Liberals’ plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.
