Liberals commit to Murugan Temple expansion

Liberal Candidate for Parramatta
An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $7 million to expand the Sydney Murugan Temple in Mays Hill.
The expansion of the Murugan Temple will include the construction of an 800-seat hall, an additional 600-seat space, foyers, an upgraded library, as well as meeting and learning rooms.
For more than thirty years, the Murugan Temple has been a place of worship, ceremony, dance, music and art.
Liberal candidate for Parramatta, Katie Mullens, said the expansion of the Murugan Temple will ensure the local Tamil community can deepen their faith and increase their engagement with the broader local community.
“This commitment will ensure that this iconic place of worship can continue to meet the needs of our growing and vibrant suburbs around Parramatta,” Ms Mullens said.
Senator for New South Wales, Maria Kovacic, said this commitment would not have been possible were it not for Katie Mullens’ advocacy.
“No candidate for Parramatta understands this city and its suburbs better than Katie Mullens,” Senator Kovacic said.
“Katie Mullens has demonstrated her great ability to advocate on behalf of all Parramatta locals and I know she will deliver for them should she be elected to represent them on 3 May.”
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
