An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $1.2 million to upgrade Cabarita and Drummoyne Swimming Centres.
This commitment includes $900,000 for the electrification of both Cabarita and Drummoyne Swimming Centres as well as $300,000 to upgrade the changerooms at Cabarita Pool Swimming Centre.
Liberal candidate for Reid, Grange Chung, said that while both pools on Canada Bay are picturesque, they are energy intensive and costly for ratepayers to maintain.
“Local families have also made it clear to me, that the changerooms at Cabarita Pool are outdated and inaccessible to members of our community,” Mr Chung said.
“I have listened and am pleased to be making these commitments to make our Canda Bay pools more accessible and sustainable.”
“These upgrades represent a major investment in the sustainability and amenity of our pools and will also deliver a cost benefit for local ratepayers.”
Shadow Minister for Communications and Shadow Minister for Western Sydney, Melissa McIntosh, welcomed the announcement, commending Grange Chung for his commitment to practical and future-focused solutions in Reid.
“I know how hard Grange has worked to deliver the smart, local leadership that Reid families need and expect,” Mrs McIntosh said.
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
