Julia Ham has been chosen by Liberal Party Members, and will be the Liberal candidate for the Wagga Wagga by-election after her nomination.
Born and raised in Brucedale, Julia is a Wagga Wagga mother, farmer, teacher and businesswoman. She has been firmly focused on giving back to her community, having been a long-term volunteer for her local RFS Brigade and Snowy Valleys Councillor.
After raising three children in Wagga, Julia understands the challenges faced by local families in a regional community.
A life in Wagga is a recipe for the good life, and I will be asking the community to support me in making it even better, she said.
A Merino farmer and early childhood teacher, Julia is passionate about supporting regional communities and ensuring that every community in the Wagga Wagga region gets the services and infrastructure it needs.
Julia said that the Wagga Wagga region has been much better off thanks to the Berejiklian Government, which has paid off Labor’s debt and delivered better health, transport, emergency and community services, road upgrades and new service centres.
“Only the Liberals can deliver a Government that will manage our economy and continue to deliver the health services, schools and roads that our region needs.”
Julia said she has been humbled by the support and trust that the local Party members have placed in her. “I’m looking forward to campaigning across the Wagga Wagga electorate about issues that matter to our community, and urging the people of Wagga Wagga to let me be their strong, local voice in Gladys Berejiklian’s team.”
