Lawyer and business leader, Craig Chung, has been endorsed as the Liberal candidate for Kogarah.

Raised in Kogarah Bay, Craig attended Carlton South Pubic School and later Sydney Technical High School in Bexley, and holds strong ties with the Kogarah community.

Craig’s rich family history reflects the diverse communities that have made their home across the Kogarah electorate. Craig’s great-grand father arrived in Australia from Canton in 1882 and his mother is a fifth generation Australian.

“My family instilled in me the importance of hard work and giving back to the community. There is an incredibly diverse community in Kogarah, and I am excited to campaign for an opportunity to represent them all and get more government services provided in a way that better supports our electorate.”

Craig has regularly volunteered with Sydney City Mission, Meals on Wheels and Rotary. In 2019, Craig was awarded the Rotary Community Service Award for contributing to volunteering and the community.

Raising two kids with his wife, Nicole, Craig understands the pressures of raising a family, juggling careers, running multiple business and navigating economic challenges. Craig’s small business experience spans the legal profession, hospitality, education and agriculture.

“I understand the pressure of small and family businesses. That is why my vision is to continue to provide opportunities for small businesses in the Kogarah electorate to grow, expand and employ more people.”

“I want to be part of the Perrottet Government that is helping families with the growing cost of living, and easing pressure on family budgets with great programs like the Back to School, Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers.”

Craig is committed to public service through his years of experience as an elected Liberal, having served as an elected councilor in both Ryde and City of Sydney local governments.

“My experience in advocating for important local amenities and infrastructure has prepared me to be able to deliver for this community, helping it grow through connection, and social sustainability.”

“I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to campaign as a member of the Perrottet team, whose strong economic management and long-term plan to grow our economy will deliver the infrastructure and services that the Kogarah electorate deserves can only be delivered under the Liberal Government.”
