Liberals commit to upgrade Belmont Neighbourhood Centre
A Dutton Liberal Government will commit $262,500 to upgrade the Belmont Neighbourhood Centre – home of the Belmont Men’s Shed, the Habitat in Harmony Community Garden and a number of other community services, classes and programs.

A Dutton Liberal Government will commit $262,500 to upgrade the Belmont Neighbourhood Centre – home of the Belmont Men’s Shed, the Habitat in Harmony Community Garden and a number of other community services, classes and programs.
The upgrade includes a kitchen refurbishment and a replacement of storage facilities.
Liberal for Shortland, Emma King, said the Belmont Neighbourhood Centre plays a vital role in supporting local families.
“This commitment will ensure the Belmont Neighbourhood Centre can continue to deliver its valued community services, classes, and programs, right here on-site,” Ms King said.
“Belmont locals of all ages deserve access to a welcoming space that is fit-for-purpose and this upgrade will ensure that it remains so for all whom pass through its doors each week.”
“I will always fight to ensure our communities get the funding and attention they deserve.”
Lake Macquarie Mayor, Adam Shultz, welcomed the announcement, saying the Centre has become woven into the fabric of the Belmont community.
“This is a Council-owned facility that has served the community for decades, and we welcome any investment that helps modernise and revitalise it so it can continue to meet the needs of local residents,” Mayor Shultz said.
“I will always put the people of Lake Macquarie first – and that includes backing meaningful upgrades like this that support our residents.”
This commitment is part of the Liberals plan to get Australia back on track.
