An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $500,000 to upgrade the lighting at the Bega Sporting Complex.

This commitment will fund the upgrade of floodlighting at both George Griffin Oval and Bega Recreation Ground in order to meet current standards.

Liberal candidate for Eden-Monaro, Jo van der Plaat, said that the lighting upgrades will improve player safety and spectator experience at the Bega Sporting Complex.

“Poor lighting can increase the risk of injury and provides a less safe experience at evening training sessions during the week and at night matches held on the weekend.

“This commitment will also improve playing conditions at the Bega Sporting Complex which will only serve to promote the continued growth of local sport in the Bega Valley – particularly amongst young women and girls.

“Sport plays a vital role in bringing the Bega Valley together and these lighting upgrades will make a real difference for the local clubs, athletes, and families who rely on these facilities,” said Jo van der Plaat.

This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
