An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $5 million to turn Maitland Park into a regional park of significance, creating a flagship destination for the entire city.

The commitment will deliver upgraded playground facilities, landscaping and additional infrastructure to support more visitors all year round.

Liberal candidate for Paterson, Laurence Antcliff, said this commitment will transform Maitland Park into the flourishing heart of the city and a community asset for generations.

“Revamping the park with modern and upgraded facilities will create a fantastic space that can be enjoyed by everyone from across the region, starting with an amazing new playground for local families,” Mr Antcliff said.

“The Park upgrade will help to draw more visitors, helping the local economy by driving business for local shops, hospitality businesses and tourism operators.”

“I would like to express my thanks to all of the members of our community who encouraged and supported my advocacy for this significant investment in Maitland Park and our city.”

Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Sussan Ley, said Laurence Antcliff has already demonstrated the effectiveness of his advocacy by securing this commitment for Maitland Park.

“Laurence has the secured this commitment because of his willingness to listen to and fight for his community,” Ms Ley said.

“Regional cities like Maitland won’t find a stronger advocate than Laurence and won’t find stronger supporters in Canberra than those in a Dutton Liberal Government.”

“We in the Liberal Party share Laurence’s high aspirations for Maitland and will never take its families and businesses for granted.”

This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
