An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $140,500 to upgrade the lighting at Pearce Reserve in Kings Langley – home of the Kings Langley Cricket Club.

The outdated halogen lights will be replaced with energy efficient LED lighting to ensure Pearce Reserve can meet current player safety standards.

This commitment will allow Pearce Reserve to continue to host senior cricket fixtures as well as community events such as annual Kings Langley Christmas Carols.

Liberal candidate for Greenway, Rattan Virk, said that Kings Langley Cricket Club has waited too long for lighting upgrades.

“I am proud to make this commitment which will be a big win for the girls and boys aspiring to be the cricket stars of the future,” Dr Virk said.

“With upgraded lighting, Pearce Reserve can attract elite matches which extend into the evening.”

“This project not only increases safety on the pitch but will allow the Kings Langley Cricket Club to provide more opportunities for its members and our community at Pearce Reserve.”

Senator for New South Wales, Dave Sharma, said the Liberals understand that cricket has long been stitched into the fabric of the suburbs in the northwest of Sydney, like Kings Langley.

This commitment would not have been possible were it not for the sustained advocacy of Rattan Virk,” Senator Sharma said.

“Rattan has already demonstrated a preparedness to fight for what her community needs and our commitment to upgrade the lighting at Peace Reserve is indicative of that.”

This commitment is part of the Liberals plan to get Australia back on track.
