An elected Dutton Coalition Government has committed to delivering upgrades and key programs at the Sabian Mandaean Association in Liverpool – an established community organisation dedicated to providing settlement services, capacity-building programs and cultural engagement initiatives.
Liberal candidate for Werriwa, Sam Kayal, said this $225,000 commitment will deliver:
- $50,000 for security upgrades, at the Sabian Mandean Association, including the installation of security cameras, lighting, and doors as well as fencing, gates, and alarms; and
- $175,000 for the delivery of programmes aimed at preventing local crime and addressing anti-social behaviour by at-risk youth.
“This commitment will strengthen our community and ensure Liverpool locals can feel safer as they go about their daily lives,” said Mr Kayal.
"This commitment represents a direct and practical response to the concerns raised with me by local community leaders, from the Sabian Mandaean Association, and more broadly.”
Shadow Minister for Home Affairs, Senator James Paterson, said Liverpool will be stronger, more secure, and better supported to tackle crime, under a Dutton Coalition Government.
“Getting Australia Back on Track means keeping Australia safe – safe for families, safe for businesses, and safe for communities,” said Senator Paterson.
Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, David Coleman, said this investment will support early intervention programs to steer our young people away from crime and reduce reoffending.
“Sam has been steadfast in his advocacy for investments that will make a real difference to community safety across Werriwa and this commitment is the result of that advocacy,” said Mr Coleman.
